Perhaps we are afraid to be still because we don’t like the sound of our own emptiness or pain and confusion. But it is preciously in our weakness that God makes Himself known to us as He restores us, forgives us, renews our strength, guides us, and convicts us of what we need to change. The family settiing is truly a crucible. The first step to making our homes safe, loving places is to recognize how quickly our homes can become unloving and harmful. In our weaknesses and selfishness, we all have the ability to hurt one another. And the deepest wounds can come from those who love [...] Parents who know themselves understand their children better than those who don’t. Parents who have their vision(s) for themselves lead their children with visionary instructions. Parents who have succeeded in their goal(s) know how to guide their children to achieve their vision(s). Now, what do you think?
