Perhaps we are afraid to be still because we don’t like the sound of our own emptiness or pain and confusion. But it is preciously in our weakness that God makes Himself known to us as He restores us, forgives us, renews our strength, guides us, and convicts us of what we need to change. It is so easy for us to evaluate others and ourselves according to our performance since we live in the culture which values accomplishments most.
