Courage

Sometimes we get things from an unexpected source. My third son, Karson (3 yrs) would say, “Daddy don’t worry, don’t be scared. I will be in the bathroom” to me. He says it when he goes to “his bathroom,” which is nothing like luxurious or fancy at all. It is just a plain, normal and regular family bathroom. At first I thought he said this because he wanted me to come with him for his comfort. So I followed him. But I was wrong. When he saw me following him, he said, “Daddy don’t. You stay there and I will go to my bathroom by myself. I will come back.” Oh boy, I thought that “did he really think I would be scared because he was going to leave me to go to his bathroom? or something else?” Frankly, I don’t know the answer. All I know is that I have a 3 year old son who is self-confident and courageous enough to share his confidence with his Dad.
